About Us
Love of Dog Bakery began in late 2006 when Julie decided to bake special homemade dog bones for her friends' dogs as Holiday gifts. Baking the bones was so much fun and the dogs absolutely loved her special creations! When a friend asked Julie if she had considered selling them, it seemed like the perfect idea! Soon thereafter Julie and her husband Rob made their doggie bakery a reality and this website was launched in 2007.
Julie and Rob are dog lovers through and through. They both grew up with family dogs, and feel that a dog makes a house a Home. Hayle, their Flat-Coated Retriever/Border Collie/Mutt, was adopted from an animal rescue group when she was ten weeks old. They support both local and national animal rescue organizations and are delighted to extend their charitable contributions through Love of Dog Bakery.
Julie is completing the final stages of a PhD program in Clinical Psychology. She has focused her studies and experiences thus far in working with children with developmental disorders and brain injuries. She finds Love of Dog Bakery to be a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend her “free” time, and loves bringing joy to dogs and their people. Julie takes pride in personally baking every treat sold by Love of Dog Bakery.
Rob has a business degree in Marketing. His career has included positions in sales, marketing, management, and business consulting. He loves the opportunity to bring his business knowledge and experience to Love of Dog Bakery as a fun, family business venture.
As a company, Love of Dog Bakery strives to be environmentally conscientious. We use 100% recylcable corrugated cardboard (30% post consumer) shipping boxes and all of our packing peanuts are reused (we have our friends and family save all their packing peanuts for us). In addition, we purchase Green Energy Credits to offset our carbon footprint as a company.
When they aren't working their "real" jobs or baking dog bones, Rob, Julie, & Hayle enjoy trips to the dog park, hikes in the woods, camping, or swimming in the reservoir, river, lake, bay, or wherever Hayle can find to jump into the water!
